Delivery

Bath Culture House Delivery Information:

Processing Time
As we produce small batches, we generally require a 1-3 working-day lead time to dispatch your order, although this may vary during busy periods. We usually need a little more time to dispatch orders containing kombucha or beet kvass.
We dispatch parcels Monday-Thursday, excluding bank holidays.

Minimum Order Value
We process all orders with a value of £10, excluding delivery costs.

Our Courier Partner
We've partnered with DX, who provide a secure next-day tracked service. DX will either need a signature on delivery, or permission from you to leave your parcel in a safe place. Once we've packed your order and created the consignment, you'll receive an order confirmation showing the tracking number. You can use this to specify a delivery day for your parcel or to request that DX leaves the parcel with a neighbour. Please note requests such as this will delay the arrival of your parcel - this is your responsibility.

Local Delivery
We offer local delivery for £2, for various postcodes near to us or on our route home (BS40, BA16, BA6, BA5, BS27 and any BS39 postcodes in Bishops Sutton). If you live locally to us (BS40 6PE) you can also order and select the free pick-up option. Once we've confirmed your order is ready for pick-up, you can come anytime Monday to Friday from 8am-6pm.

Our courier partner doesn't 'guarantee' next-day delivery but it's successful roughly 95% of the time. Please note if your delivery is delayed, please get in touch with us; in the vast majority of the time your items will be perfectly fine to consume.

Please note, if products and workshops are bought within the same transaction, meaning you receive free delivery (for example, basket spend is £60+), we reserve the right to claim for delivery costs that would have incurred had you not bought a workshop, if you thereafter cancel a workshop space. That is to say, should you cancel a workshop space leaving an overall basket amount of less than £30, we reserve the right to deduct the delivery charge (i.e. £6.99) from the amount we refund to you for the workshop space.

Storage & Transit
All our products are raw and unpasteurised, meaning they will continue to ferment when not stored at chilled temperatures. We pack products for you that we believe are ready-to-eat and fermented ideally. A product that's over-fermented may be overly fizzy, leaking or/and have a raised lid. For this reason, we pack our products to ensure they have the best possible chance of arriving to your door at a chilled temperature* (below 8°C), using a reliable courier company – which is our obligation.
*We may pack your kombucha at ambient temperatures if we feel it is not necessary to chill them prior to their arrival to you; this may be because of the outside temperature or/and because they have been freshly bottled and could benefit from an extra day or so of fermentation in the bottle. In this case we always instruct to chill on arrival.
Please refrigerate all our products on arrival, they are all perishable goods that are always best kept at temperatures below 8°C. If your ferments do not arrive cold, then this does not mean your ferments aren't suitable to consume, they will be fine to eat although may need 'burping' (the lid opening) and some of the liquid drained over a bowl over the sink. It's entirely normal for our products to leak and slightly ferment during transit, although we do what we can to try and limit the possibility of this happening. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Address Information & Fulfillment
We strongly recommend leaving your email address and/or mobile number at checkout for tracking info from our courier partner; this allows you to keep track of your package. Remember, all our products are perishable!

Unless we're told otherwise by you, our courier partner will need a signature from you in order to deliver your parcel. If you feel you may not be in, please leave us delivery instructions (i.e. safe place info, leave with neighbour) so that your parcel can be picked up when you get home.

It's your responsibility to ensure the address provided is valid and accurate. Writing a note in your address at checkout (there is space provided) or emailing us to add extra notes is recommended. We can't accept responsibility for parcels that go missing having been delivered (either left in safe place or left with neighbour). We also can’t accept responsibility for parcels that are returned to us due to the shipping address provided being inaccurate. Please note – If you change the delivery information provided by contacting our courier partner, after your items have been shipped, our courier partner will return your parcel to their depot before trying to deliver again (with the new notes) the next working day. We cannot be held responsible for delays made to the delivery of your parcel on this basis.

Packaging
Orders are packed in either foil/plastic based temperature-controlled liners (fully-recyclable) or paper-based liners, with long-lasting ice packs that you can re-use or recycle. The contents of the ice packs are not water, but are also non-toxic so can be poured down the sink. We wrap individual jars and bottles in newspaper offcuts, which can be fully recyclable and are extremely effective at cushioning your ferments. The boxes we use are usually eco-friendly brown cardboard boxes; however we sometimes re-use boxes that we receive for our deliveries or that we pick-up from local shops. We do this for environmental reasons. Finally we use a paper-based tape which can also be recycled.
On your box will be a white and red sticker instructing the driver that the contents of your package include 'PERISHABLE GOODS, URGENT DELIVERY. PLEASE DELIVER WITHIN 24 HOURS'. This sticker is used as a warning to the driver that the goods should be seen as a priority for next-day delivery. Should your package be delayed, please do not reject your parcel on the sticker's basis. We won't be able to send out a fresh parcel or offer a refund if the package is rejected on the sticker's basis, as we will be charged for another delivery attempt, or for the parcel to be returned to us, or to be destroyed. Please always contact us if in doubt about the status of your parcel. Please also be aware of our terms & conditions and refund policy.
